Welcome to Citizen Kano

Greetings blogworms and cinephiles,

Welcome to Citizen Kano.

The concept of this blog is to muscle through and discuss the 123* films on the AFI's "100 Years...100 Movies" list. We say 123 films because the original list came out in 1997 and was updated for their 10th anniversary. Some films were added to the list and some were removed. We wanted to have a comprehensive list of all the films they have ranked. We will judge from there how well they chose the greatest films of American cinema.

If we were really crazy, we would watch all the hundreds of nominated films and then create our own top 100. However, we want to have some kind of a life outside this list, so we chose to critique the 123 films that actually made the cut.

We are still working out the kinks of exactly how we are going to grade, rank, or judge these films. Giving a star rating would seemingly defeat the purpose since the majority of these films would all end up with stellar ratings. We, however, don't want to waste anymore time. If anything, we will start to put up our critiques and worry about some sort of judgment later.

Keep your eyes open though, and enjoy all the wonders that Citizen Kano has to offer.

And if we offend anyone...fuck off.
